Every Baby is the best baby Ever!
Breastfeeding is the most important, and sometimes the most difficult job in the world.
I want you to have a wonderful breastfeeding experience and support you so you can enjoy your baby.
Exclusive breastfeeding is recommended for 6 months, and continuing with other foods for 1 - 2 years and beyond. Most women in Oregon start with these goals but at three months half are still exclusively breastfeeding and only a quarter at 6 months. I want to support you to meet your own goals through whatever life throws at you.
It is going to be OK...
Even though breastfeeding is simple, both baby and mom sometimes need tools and techniques to make it work simply and easily. As a mother of twins I have experienced the challenges and rewards of breastfeeding. Challenges include finding help in the confusing first month, learning warning signs and how to make breastfeeding a part of everyday life. The rewards are close family bonds, blissful baby looks, more sleep, deep personal satisfaction and of course - healthy happy kids.
I am a board certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), peer counselor thru Nursing Mother's Counsel of Oregon and a member of La Leche League. My own mother was a pioneering natural childbirth and breastfeeding advocate. I have seen how vital it is to listen, laugh and learn. Together, we can do it.
